ARTEFACTS OF THE
POST-APOCALYPSE

What is in the unknown? Philosophers and thinkers have asked this question for ages and ages. To help explain their version of the unknown, they have conjured beasts that prowl the edges of the world, the giant Atlas supporting the Heavens, Hell and its punishments, all forming the images that represent the myths they have created. These mythical images were created as idols, jellyfish, chimeras and dogs that prowled the very gates of Hell itself, breathing life into the Western imagination.

James Vitale (Seattle, U.S. 1952) has undertaken the ambitious project of showing us the possible end of the world in a novel way that illustrates the possibility of God for a hopeful, emerging new civilization from the waste of extinction.

The artwork of "Jaime" Vitale reveals to us both a pre-apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic world through his creative and thought provoking renditions of the possible inhabitants of the last days of our very own planet.
