Chess Tournaments

The Cultural Center hosted and sponsored a statewide chess tournament on Saturday, December 15, 2012. There were two (2) levels for children and young adults and an open level for everyone else. The champion of the open level was a 16 year old student from Tepic who has also won numerous tournaments across Mexico and the United States. He is a great champion and we were fortunate to have him play in our tournament.

The next statewide chess tournament to be sponsored by the Cultural Center will be in December of 2013. Please signup to play or volunteer if you have the time and interest!

The Cultural Center also sponsors a local chess club who has periodic tournaments at the Center, especially during the Summer Programs for the school children. Thanks to everyone who has donated to these programs in the past. Let us know if you would like to be involved!
